This 2-hour documentary follows writer Faith Adiele, journalist Andrew Lam and brothers Armando and Carlos Peņa as they travel to their ancestral homelands to uncover the impact of global history on American individuals and society. Their stories reveal biographies at turns thought- provoking, humorous and emotionally devastating.

My 30-minute section, written and narrated by me, recounts my parents' roles in the Civil Rights and African Independence movements and my own experiences growing up Nigerian-Nordic-American. The segment was produced by Renee Tajima-Peņa, directed by Lourdes Portillo, filmed by Vicente  Franco, and edited by Johanna Demerest.
